Learned basic bass play in high school 1992 and played in a punk band, mostly sex pistols. Stopped playing in 1993 for 26 years. Started playing again to help a friend out who had their bassist missing for a gig and now with al modern stuff that was unavailable back in my young days like online tabs and YouTube videos, I have been playing again since 2019 and got some music theory tutored by a friend and rediscovered the love for the bass as the beautiful instrument it is. Weekly jam sessions with a friend, other players also welcome like a drummer or extra guitarist. No real intention to form a band or do active gigging. Just music for fun.
