Zayna Esuo and D urbanites

Locatie: Gent
leeftijd: 50
Profiletype: Band seeking musician
Genres Funk, Jazz, Soul
Zayna Esuo grew up among London musicians, and it soon became clear that she would follow in her father's footsteps. After completing her secondary education at KHB in Brussels, she interned in singing at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London and studied at KASK Ghent.

She performs annually at the jazz club “Bistro l'Arabe” in Marrakech, accompanied by the Black Experience Jazz Band. She began working on her own songs and got the idea to revive her father's former band, D-Urbanites, and breathe new life into it.

The original band was formed in 2008 by frontman and lead vocalist Malik Esuo (The Brix Academy, WKD, Tales of Hypeness) and jazz bassist Stijn Deldaele (Blunt, Phoenix jazz project, Precious Wilson). Along with keyboardist Jonas Desmet (Madame Blavatsky, Olga Jane, Keith Canvas), drummer Sam Gysel (Arno ,Arsenal, Fugu Mango), Sebastian Pèna Ortiz (El Tattoo del Tigré Skala, Contrabando) and many guest artists, they set many stages ablaze with their unvarnished acid-jazz vibes!
